Seit 2006 Professor für Neuere deutsche Literatur mit den Schwerpunkten Literaturtheorie, Drama und Theater sowie deutsch-jüdische Literatur an der Universität Paderborn

- Ästhetische Formen der Automatisierung und Entautomatisierung

1978-1984 studied German and Protestant Theology.
1988 received his Doctorate with a work on Heiner Müller (Apokalypse und Utopie)
1995 Habilitation with an investigation of German drama on the French Revolution around 1800, with additional Academic activities.
2003-2006 Professor of German Literature at the University of Amsterdam
Since 2006 he has been a professor of Modern German Literature at the University of Paderborn, with a focus on literary theory, drama and theater as well as German-Jewish.

- Contemporary literature
- Aesthetic forms of automation and de-automation
- Heiner Müller (with numerous publications up to the present time)
