Einladung zur Mitgliederversammlung

Liebe Mitglieder,

wir laden Euch herzlich zur nächsten Mitgliederversammlung am 15.12.2013 ein und hoffen auf zahlreiches Erscheinen! Anders als in den vergangenen Jahren wird die Mitgliederversammlung um 15 Uhr in den Räumen der ECLA of Bard: A Liberal Arts University in Berlin-Pankow stattfinden, deren Gäste wir sind. Auf dieser Versammlung wird vor allem die Wahl des neuen Vorstands stattfinden. Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt ist bereits klar, dass vier Mitglieder des aktuellen Vorstands – B.K. Tragelehn, Hans Peter Kammerer, Alexander Weigel und José Enrique Macián – ausscheiden werden.

Wahlmodalitäten:
Wir möchten darauf hinweisen, dass für diejenigen Mitglieder, die nicht kommen können, die Möglichkeit besteht, ihre Stimme auf ein anwesendes Mitglied zu übertragen. Dieses Mitglied kann dann zwei Wahlzettel abgeben: einen für sich selbst und einen für das Mitglied, das seine Stimme übertragen hat. Ein anwesendes Mitglied darf nur jeweils EIN abwesendes Mitglied vertreten (§6, Abs. 4 der Satzung). Hierzu ist es erforderlich, dass das abwesende Mitglied eine schriftliche Vollmacht erteilt. Wir akzeptieren auch eine E-Mail, die bis zum 10.12.2013 bei der Geschäftsstelle unter kontakt@ihmg.de eingeht und das Mitglied benennt, durch das man sich vertreten lassen will.

Kandidatur:
Wir rufen alle interessierten Mitglieder auf, selbst für den Vorstand zu kandidieren. Es handelt sich um ein unvergütetes Ehrenamt, das die Anreise zu regelmäßigen Vorstandssitzungen (alle paar Monate) in Berlin und Kommunikation untereinander per E-Mail voraussetzt. Wir bitten darum, die Kandidatur bis zum 20.11.2013 der Geschäftsstelle unter kontakt@ihmg.de mitzuteilen und gern eine kleine Selbstvorstellung mitzuschicken (max. 1 DIN-A4-Seite), z.B. mit Kurzbiografie und/oder kurzer Erklärung zur Kandidatur. Am 01.12.2013 werden die Namen der Kandidaten und die Kurzvorstellungen an alle Mitglieder versendet, zur Vorinformation. Natürlich ist auch eine Spontankandidatur auf der Versammlung möglich, aber jeder, der möchte, soll Gelegenheit haben, seine Kandidatur anzukündigen, damit Mitglieder, die ihre Stimme übertragen wollen, im Vorab wissen, wer für den Vorstand kandidiert.

2. Vorstellung Buchprojekt:
Dr. Janine Ludwig, die derzeitige stellvertretende Vorsitzende der IHMG, und Dr. Florian N. Becker, Associate Professor of German and Comparative Literature, Bard College, werden den Mitgliedern ihr aktuelles Publikationsprojekt vorstellen: Ein Handbuch zu Heiner Müller für den US-amerikanischen Rezeptionskreis, herausgegeben beim Verlag de Gruyter.

Nach dem offiziellen Programm hoffen wir auf regen Austausch bei einem kleinen Catering. Wir freuen uns darauf, möglichst viele Mitglieder vor Ort zu treffen und verbleiben bis dahin,

Dear Members,

You are cordially invited to the next members’ meeting on 15.12.2013. We are hoping for a large turnout! Unlike in past years, the members’ meeting will take place at 15:00, at the ECLA of Bard: A Liberal Arts University in Berlin-Pankow, who will be hosting us. First and foremost, the election for a new executive board will be held during the assembly. At this time, four members of the current executive board have expressed their intentions to retire from their posts: B. K. Tragelehn, Hans Peter Kammerer, Alexander Weigel, and José Enrique Macián.

Voting Procedure:
We would like to indicate that for those members who cannot attend the meeting, there is a possibility to vote via proxy by assigning an attendant member to cast your vote. This proxy may then cast two ballots: one for him/herself and one for the member who has transferred his/her vote to said proxy. An attendant member may only represented ONE absent member (§6, ¶4 of the society’s bylaws). In regards to voting by proxy, it is necessary that the absent member grant a written power of authority. We will also accept an email, which has been submitted to the society’s administration (kontakt@ihmg.de) by 10.12.2013, naming the member who is to act as representative.

Candidacy:
We ask that all members interested in running for a post on the executive committee nominate themselves for election. A committee position is an uncompensated, honorary appointment that requires attendance to periodic board meetings (every few months) in Berlin and communicating among fellow board members via email. We ask that those interested in candidacy contact the society’s administration (kontakt@ihmg.de) by 20.11.2013. We also welcome you to include a short introduction (max. 1 A4 page): e.g., a short biography and/or a short statement of one’s candidacy. The names of all nominees and the short introductions will be sent to the entire membership in advance on 01.12.2013. A spontaneous announcement of one’s candidacy is certainly permissible during the members’ meeting, but we ask that everyone who wishes should announce his/her candidacy beforehand so that members who desire to vote via proxy will know in advance who is running for the executive board.

Dr. Janine Ludwig, who is currently vice chairperson of the IHMG, and Dr. Florian N. Becker, Associate Professor of German and Comparative Literature, Bard College, will present their current publication in progress: a companion for a US audience, regarding the works of Heiner Müller, to be published by De Gruyter.

After the official program, we hope that members will take time to meet with each other over catered refreshments and snacks. We look forward to meeting with as many members as possible in person. Until then, with best regards from Berlin, we remain
